I don't know any other way to position this other than to just put it out there, so here it goes... I am taking flying lessons.
Random? Yes!
Crazy? Yes!
Exciting? Yes!
Scary? Yes!
Today was my first day of ground school. (I am two days behind the rest of the class so I have a novels-worth of reading to get through in order to catch up. I also need to schedule my first partner flight with our instructor, Ricardo.) All-in-all, it was amazing and I cannot wait to take to the skies!
Ricardo is absolutely adorable and seems to know everything there is to know about flying a plane. The only hiccup is that he is from Venezuela so he speaks with quite a strong accent. For example, he kept talking about “trust” tonight… It did not make complete contextual sense to me, but since I’m a little behind the rest of the class, I kept my mouth shut. Finally I realized he was talking about “thrust” not “trust.” Let's hope I can overcome the language barrier soon; I'd like to trust that Ricardo is not going to thrust me into harms way!
I am absolutely exhausted, but I promise to share more updates from my aeronautical adventures soon. Sweet Dreams :)
